Here are my Salesforce.com Spring ’14 Release Developer Maintenance Exam Preparation Notes. The Salesforce.com Spring ’14 Release Developer Maintenance Exam has following topics covered

In the exam there will be 5 questions which need to be answered in 30 minutes. Going by this you have ample time to do your research and find the answers. The recommended study material are:

Here are my notes that will help you prepare:

Analytics

Reports enhancements

• Users can now sort the data in any grouping by any summarized field or custom summary formula
• When running a summary or matrix report users can freeze the headers (was already there in tabular). Use arrows to show / hide frozen headers.
• Administrators can control which reports types are visible to end users and hide some report types from all users.
• Administrators can make settings to remove the footer information at the bottom of the exported report from reports and Dashboards User Interface settings
• Historical trending on case reports can now be enabled

Dashboard enhancements

• Users can now group and name dashboard filter values
• When using components users can display fractions and percentage in a table component
• users no longer need view all permission to edit dashboard where they are not running user

Mobile

Salesforce1 app

• Salesforce 1 app is used to access salesforce data by end users
• Users can access salesforce files & salesforce communities
• Today feature supported on ipads
• Admins can manage Salesforce 1 from Manage apps – Connected apps
• Can control which users have access to app
• Can control the security and login settings like enforce IP restrictions for mobile devices

SalesforceA app

• used to manage users on mobile devices

Force.com

Data Import Wizard

• Replaces separate wizards that were available earlier
• Now you have a single unified wizard for Accounts & Contacts, Leads, Solutions and all Custom Objects
• Can control how the imported data will be used for example to add new records, update or add new records and update
• Traditional options like matching still available
• It is easier to upload file and an import file can be dragged into the wizard for uploading
• Interface is very user friendly showing if any fields not mapped, and also example import values are displayed to help with field mapping
• Error messages are displayed in case of wrong mapping
• Summary can reviewed and you get a warning on data mapping
• Results can be monitored from bulk data load job page
• End users will be able to access same data import wizard

What I have noticed that there was one question on Sales Order in the examination. This was a surprise as Sales Cloud was not part of exam preparation guideline on Salesforce release exam page. Here are few additional notes on Sales Order

Sales Order

• Agreement between company and customers to provision services or deliver products
• Orders can be added to contracts or accounts
• Reduction orders and negative quantity allows to process returns
• Admins can enable orders
• Three new user permissions – Activate Orders, Create Reduction Orders and Edit activated Order on the profiles
• After order is created the Account and contract fields on an order can not be changed
• Orders follow sharing model of the account
• Only activated orders can be reduced
• Users can not reduce multiple order with one reduction
• If you want to deactivate an order first delete reduction orders
• Only one price book can be associated and if associated it can be changed or removed
• Can use REST or SOAP API to integrate
