Salesforce.com Winter ’13 Release Exam Notes for Administrator and Developers

If you are planning to write the Salesforce.com Winter ’13 Release Exam – here are my Notes for Administrator and Developers. Use the following notes as reference in addition to Release Notes and Release Training

Force.com

Permission Set Enhancements

  • Permission Sets can be assigned to users with different licence types
  • Permission set asiignment will fail if not assigned by user;s license
  • User license setting can only be specified at the time of creating and can not be changed

Visual workflow

  • Can control screen navigation (can remove previous or next screen)
  • Can add field with multiple choices (multiselect check box or multi select picklict)
  • Checkbox field (true . false)
  • Search control on pallet (search elements to add to the flow)
  • Explorer tab search to find resources and elements used
  • Highlight result on canvas
  • Hover to highlight element
  • Zoom flow

Developer console

  • Test tool
    • Test code coverage
    • Code not meeting test coverage
    • Quesry editor
    • SOQL queries
      • View results
      • Perspective
      • Layout of panels in developer console

Test framework

  • CSV file as static resource store test data
  • Test.loadData()
  • Test.setMock()

Analytics

Joined reports

  • Print & export joined reports
  • 2000 rows
  • Also work with details

Dashboard

  • Joined report chart can be displayed in DB
  • New addition to chart type in dashboard (scatter chart)

Data.com

  • New search & Filter
  • Filter on employee count and revenue
  • Can specify company location, (branch, HQ, single)
  • Can select records across multiple search pages (1000)
  • User has limit of 300 pm
  • Records already added, exported or used by Data.com clean are not counted against monthly quota
  • Users can chose to ignore records already owned when exporting data

Administrator

  • Respect Do Not contact setting in salesforce – hide email and phone
  • Allow duplicates for Accounts, Contacts, Leads
  • Error logs stored in the files tab
  • Field options to automatically fill blank values
  • Options – Flag, Flag & Autofill
  • Custom field mapping (can map Data.com field to custom field)
  • Lock records from being updated by data.com clean
    • Loacking records requires “Data.com reports” from appexchange
    • Not mapping a data.com field will not be shown in the comparison and export

Data.com Premium

  • 70 fields on D&B Object
  • Search by Global Ultimate D-U-N-S to see all companies in that hierarchy
  • Add D&B Company Field and Search by Global Ultimate D-U-N-S Button
  • Data.com Clean can update D&B company object monthly
  • Green dot indicates that record is already update, exported and managed by data.com clean

Chatter

  • Chatter post – Polls
    • Ask questions in feed
    • Use mentions in question
    • Direct polls to followers or to a group
    • Chatter tabs as collapsing menu in sidebar (Consolidated Chatter Tab Navigation)
      • Tabs still available but no longer required to move away from chatter tab
      • Links from some websites automatically converted to preview images – new rich link preview feature
      • Admins can enable or disable rich link preview feature from Admin >> Setup >> Customize >> Chatter >> Settings
      • Publish posts directly to Public, Private or customer chatter groups (No need to go to group or profile)
      • New visibility widget helps users in seeing who this post is visible to

 

Sales Cloud

Forecast Enhancements

  • Forecasting custom report types
  • Forecasting Primary >> Opportunity
  • Forecasting quotas as primary
  • Customizable forecasting list view – can add up to 15 fields on the opty related list on the forecast tab
  • CRT Forecasting quota (individual or team quotas), Forecasting items (forecasting line itsm), Forecasting items & opty
  • New Forecast API
  • Connect with Sales Reps from within Forecast (Hover)
  • Can adjust forecast in any currency without changing the currency from diplay settings menu

Customizable Opty Teams

  • Sales Team is now Opportunity Team
  • Now and Object
  • Can add validation rules and triggers
  • Workflow not available
  • Can not be parent object in MD or Lookup relationship
  • Can not be primary object or have child object in record types
  • Validation rules and triggers will not execute when default opportunity team is added

Service Cloud

Case Feed

  • Optional replacement of case Detail page for agents working with multiple channels
  • Highlights Panel, Publishers, Chatter Feed, Case Followers, Feed Item Filters
  • Case feed Publishers
    • Tools to perform tasks like email, notes, change status
    • Custom publishesr using VF pages
    • Post a tweet publisher
    • Case comment, task and entitlement publisher
    • Standard email publisher in feed below publisher – “Answer Customer” (Can do email draft and can also submit for approval)
    • Can answer on Chatter answers (Private or public reply to cased that are escalated from questions)

    • Personalization framework to maintain workspace across sessions
    • Add remove push notification listeners (Streaming api on VF)
    • Cross domain api (to communicate between SF and non SF domains and third party apps)
